The Indian Navy (Indian Navy Sports Control Board) has published recruitment details for Direct Entry Chief Petty Officer (Sports Entry).
Candidates must have one of the following educational qualifications: 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream; Sports achievement: Medal in World Championship / Asian Championship / Asian Games / CWG / World Cup; or represented India twice in Asian Games / CWG / World Cup; or represented India in the Olympics.. The age limit for the post is 17 to 25 years.
The application process is scheduled from 26 September 2026 to 15 October 2026.
During training: Stipend ₹14,600 per month; After successful training: Pay Level 6 plus Military Service Pay (MSP) and other admissible allowances
Initial training at INS Chilka, followed by professional training in allotted trade. Branch/trade allotted as per Navy requirement. 3-year probation period; failure to meet prescribed sports performance can lead to discharge. Promotion available up to Master Chief Petty Officer and, for eligible sailors, to Commissioned Officer through prescribed examinations.
