Important Dates

Salary / Pay Scale

During training: Stipend ₹14,600 per month; After training: Direct Entry Petty Officer – Pay Level 5, Direct Entry Chief Petty Officer – Pay Level 6 plus Military Service Pay (MSP) and other admissible allowances

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting of applications (higher sports achievements get priority)
2. Sports Trials (call letter issued to shortlisted candidates)
3. Medical Examination at INS Hamla, Mumbai or INS India, Delhi
4. Final enrolment as per vacancies and requirement in that sport

How to Apply

1. Download the Sports Quota application form from the notification / joinindiannavy.gov.in.
2. Fill the form carefully and select Direct Entry Petty Officer or Chief Petty Officer (Sports Entry).
3. Attach self-attested 10th certificate (DOB), 10th mark sheet, 12th certificate & mark sheet, domicile, sports / NCC certificates, and one extra recent colour passport photograph signed on the reverse.
4. Enclose two self-addressed envelopes (22 × 10 cm) with a ₹10 stamp on one envelope.
5. Punch and tie all papers with strong thread. On the envelope, write the entry type, sports discipline and level of achievement.
6. Send by Ordinary Post only to the address mentioned.

Important Notes

• Applications accepted offline only by Ordinary Post. Speed Post, Registered Post and Courier applications will be rejected.
• Multiple applications for the same batch can lead to rejection.
• Branch / trade is allotted as per Navy requirement.
• Initial engagement is 15 years, subject to successful training.
• Selected sports entries serve a 3-year probation; failure to meet prescribed sports performance can lead to discharge.
• Beware of agents claiming to influence recruitment.
• Terms in the notice are guidelines and may change as per current Navy instructions.
