Selection Process

  1. Junior Stenographer: OMR / CBT written exam (200 questions, 2 hours; Reasoning 50, GA 50, English 100; 0.25 negative mark) + qualifying stenography test (10 minutes dictation at 80 w.p.m.). Merit on written exam among proficiency-qualified candidates.
  2. Junior Secretariat Assistant: Paper-I Mental Ability (qualifying) + Paper-II General Awareness & English + qualifying typing / computer proficiency test. Merit on Paper-II.
  3. Junior Hindi Translator: Paper-I objective (qualifying threshold) + Paper-II descriptive (paragraph, precis and translation; 300 marks). Final merit on Paper-II only.

How to Apply

  1. Read Advertisement No. 05/2026-REC and / or 06/2026-REC and confirm qualification, age and category as on 29.08.2026.
  2. Pay ₹500 through State Bank Collect if fee is applicable and note the transaction / UTR number.
  3. Open the online application, register / log in and fill personal, educational and category details.
  4. Upload 10th / 12th certificates, category / PwBD / ESM certificates, NOC (if employed), SBI Collect receipt and other required documents, then submit before 5:00 PM on 28.09.2026.
  5. No hard copy is required at this stage. Keep originals ready for document verification after the examination.

Junior Hindi Translator (JHT)

The CSIR–North East Institute of Science and Technology (CSIR-NEIST), Jorhat has announced 1 vacancies for Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) in CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat (Assam) / Branch Labs at Itanagar & Imphal.

Candidates must have one of the following educational qualifications: Master’s degree in Hindi or English (with the other language at degree level) OR Master’s in any other subject with the prescribed Hindi–English combination at degree level; Recognized Diploma / Certificate in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa, OR two years’ translation experience in Central / State Government offices including Government of India undertakings.
